Berth Holders Race day and BBQ

On Sunday the 3rd Of June we will be running a some race traing follwed by a few short races, so if you ever wanted to learn how to race or have a go then this is the day for you.

We are putting on a couple of hour long training sessions using your own boats (with an Instructor—£20/hour) - 9.30 -11.30

A group race training session (13.00 - 14.30) to cover all the basic rules followed by a couple of short races - 1st race starting 14.45To make it all the more fun we are hosting a best dressed boat competition (Judging 11.30 - 12.30), so even if you aren’t the fastest boat afloat you may be the Jazziest.

To round the day off there will be a BBQ from 18.00, followed by a prize giving ceremony.

Derwent Water Sailing Club meets throughout the season for races, usually on Sundays. Newcomers will receive a warm welcome! All berth holders are invited to enter as many or few races as you wish – any of the ‘old hands’ would be delighted to give you any assistance possible, take you out in their boats to give you an idea of the courses, how to start finish etc, or accompany you in your boat to show you the ropes.Racing is fun and we DO NOT hold races when there is any likelihood of difficult conditions.
