A 2 hour Lake Cruise to enjoy the peacefulness and tranquillity of the lake, and stunning mountain views as you glide over the water. Come and join us for a pleasant afternoon sail on Derwent Water – a  perfect activity for the whole family.

When:  3pm to 5pm or 12:15pm to 14:15pm
Price:   £60 per person

Useful Information

The sailing craft will either by a Laser 16 or a Hawk 20 depending on the number of people booked.  The craft will be operated by a RYA qualified instructor from Derwentwater Marina.

Derwent Water Marina, Portinscale, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5RF

Accessibility

  • Car Park available on site for the duration of the session.
  • Gravel under foot, 200M from car park to jetty.
  • Step up or down (depending on water level) into the boat.
  • You may need to move from side to side in the boat so you will  need to be able to duck under the boom.

What to Bring and Wear

We have a range of good quality buoyancy aids and wetsuits, which are included in the price.

In hot weather it is fine to wear swimwear with shorts and rash vest or t-shirt.  Please bring footwear that you don’t mind getting wet such as old trainers, beach/wet shoes or Teevers.

In hot, sunny conditions we advise that you wear a Sunhat or Cap, Sun Glasses and a high factor Sun Screen.

Facilities

Changing rooms and toilets are available for all our customers. 

Please note our Watersports Shop does not sell drinks or snacks so we advise you to bring your own.  We do sell water bottles in our shop and have plenty of free water available if you do forget to bring a drink ;-)

Cancellation Policy

If the event is cancelled by Derwent Water  Marina or National Trust due to unsuitable weather conditions a refund or transfer will be offered.  If the customer cancels their booking no refund or transfer will be offered.
